How to export selected ChatGPT messages to Markdown or PDF
Select the useful prompts and answers from a private ChatGPT conversation and save them locally with ChatMark.
Open a private conversation
Install ChatMark from the Chrome Web Store, sign in to ChatGPT, and open the private conversation you want to keep. Use the ChatMark button beside ChatGPT's share action or the browser toolbar icon.
ChatMark reads the current conversation branch. Regenerated answers that are not part of the branch you are viewing are not silently added to the export.
Choose exactly what to keep
The drawer selects every exportable user and assistant message by default. You can clear all messages, invert the selection, keep answers only, or choose individual messages.
System messages, tool events, empty entries, and visually hidden messages are excluded. Code blocks, tables, formulas, lists, links, and supported images keep their useful structure.
Export Markdown for free
Markdown export is free and does not require a ChatMark account. The downloaded file contains the conversation title, original URL, export time, conversation identifier, and the messages you selected.
Create a searchable PDF with Pro

Choose A4 or Letter and confirm the export. ChatMark renders the document in an isolated extension page and uses the browser print engine, so text remains searchable and selectable.
Conversation content, exported files, and ChatGPT access tokens are not sent to the ChatMark membership service. Account linking transfers only a hashed device identifier and an entitlement snapshot.
